Taylor Lang

Saturday, August 17th

Taylor is a lifelong multi-instrumentalist, delivering stories and music in a seldom-seen, genre-bending fusion of folk and fingerstyle techniques. Influenced by artists as sonically diverse as Dan Mangan, Regina Spektor, Jon Gomm, The Tragically Hip, and Pretty Lights; he sharpened his playing and performances over more than a decade in band. First, on bass with award-winning rock band Crack the Lens, and then as the frontman of Blaeser, a YYCMA-nominated folk-rock trio based in Calgary.

Now breaking out as a full solo player, he is working on new songs with expert producer and JUNO winner Russell Broom, best known for his collaborations with Jann Arden, Ian Tyson, Art Bergmann, Iskwe, and many other chart-topping Canadian artists. This performance (one of only a few in Calgary throughout 2024) will be the local launch party for one of these new project singles.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we’d love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
