Survivor Portraits

Sunday, September 22nd

Edmonton, AB – Indigital Media is proud to announce the opening of the Survivor Portraits gallery at Kingsway Mall which will run September 22 to October 6 2024. This powerful exhibit showcases the faces and stories of residential school survivors, aiming to raise awareness, promote understanding, and honour the experiences of residential school survivors.

The opening reception will take place on September 22 at 5:00 PM at the Kingsway Mall by the Starbucks close to entrance 8. Media availability will be available at 6:30 PM.
The Survivor Portraits gallery coincides with National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30. This important day commemorates the tragic history of residential schools in Canada and honours the resilience and strength of survivors. By featuring the personal stories of survivors, this exhibit offers a tangible way to connect with the past and learn from it. Most of the featured survivors will be on site and available for media interviews.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
