Sunset Boogie: A Live Country Music Series featuring The Goddamsels

Thursday, July 4th

Sunset Boogie: A Live Country Music Series

Free music every Thursday following The Common Streetcar Cask Party

Based on their name alone, The Goddamsels aren’t your grandparents’ idea of country music. Formed out of the longstanding friendship between Alberta-based singer/songwriters Mallory Chipman and Freddi MacDougall, The Goddamsels write songs with strong, empowering messages, blended with elements of folk, pop and traditional country, all tied together by their stunning instinctive harmonies. Their signature sound, which has drawn comparison to acts like The Chicks or Fleetwood Mac, can be heard on their debut album, Wayward Daughter, and subsequent singles. They were nominated for the Roots Artist of the Year at the Country Music Alberta Awards and completed a staggering 60-date tour across Canada in 2023, as well as made their European tour debut in early 2024. The Goddamsels are currently working on and eagerly anticipating the upcoming release of their sophomore self-titled album.

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we’d love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
