Sunset Boogie: A Live Country Music Series featuring The Give Em’ Hell Boys

Tuesday, August 13th

Sunset Boogie: A Live Country Music Series

Free music every Thursday following The Common Streetcar Cask Party

It started with a Country train beat at a jam session with local punk rock and metal musicians in the Edmonton, Alberta music scene. What emerged can only be called Twang Punk… blurring the lines between Country, Punk, Heavy Metal, Roots, and Rock music.

Over the past decade, The Give ‘Em Hell Boys have continued to evolve this distinct sound. Constantly gigging with a pickup truck full of songs in their repertoire, this four-piece band keeps grooving and growing stronger in the Canadian music Scene.

Their inaugural, self-produced release, Barn Burner, secured a nomination for Country Recording of the Year at the 2013 Edmonton Music Awards. With an impressive repertoire on festival stages, this band has graced audiences worldwide. They embarked on two tours across Western Europe, captivating audiences at festivals across Europe and North America, notably appearing at Big Valley Jamboree, North Country Fair, Beaumont Blues and Roots Fest, and Taste of Edmonton. Anticipate a fresh collection of tracks set to feature on their forthcoming album, currently in production.

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
