A Blink is a 30-second poem – a super-quick buzz session run of words. You have to bee quick, sound forth (don’t drone), and tell us whats a happening!
The Blinks is:
A challenge – to create a poem to perform in 30 seconds, MAX!
Anything but routine. Blinks can be snaps of fun, or searing. They can be sad, inspiring, or silly! Whatever gives you a buzz.
Invented and presented by the Stroll of Poets at the Edmonton Poetry Festival for 20 years.
The rules are easy:
Sign up in advance by sending an email to haven@strollofpoets.com. We’ll send you more detailed information.
Prepare your 30 second poem – rhyme, rap or haiku. You have to zip through it in 30 seconds or you’ll hear the buzzer (the Blinks Philharmonic will drown you out).
Show up on the night and …
join in the excitement and euphoria, hum along with hive or get a buzz on so long as you do not buzz off!
