Spirit of Reconciliation Activation

Southcentre Mall is honoured to present Spirit of Reconciliation in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. In partnership with GlobalFest, Calgary Arts Development, and Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park, this activation transforms Centre Court into a place of reflection, learning, and connection.
At the heart of the experience, a traditional Tipi will be raised in Centre Court as a living symbol of welcome, resilience, and cultural continuity. Guests are invited to learn, reflect, and participate in Indigenous-led storytelling, music, and cultural performances on Sundays between September 15-30.
On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Tipi will serve as a place of commemoration and reflection. Guests are invited to learn about the significance of Orange Shirt Day, honour Survivors and their families, and take part in cultural interpretation and a special performance.
