Sounds Like Alberta

Saturday, January 31st

Celebrate the land, people, and voices of Alberta through music that is familiar, fresh, and deeply rooted.

This program features works by three Alberta composers (Daniel Pelton, V. Jessica Sparvier Wells, and Donovan Seidle) alongside Beethoven’s pastoral masterpiece, Symphony No. 6. Conducted by Janna Sailor.

The Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra brings world-class live orchestral music to smaller communities in the shadow of the Rockies, creating memorable experiences close to home.

The RMSO makes orchestral music accessible to communities in the county in several ways:
– Relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere (no dress code, cabaret tables, convenient concert times)
– Local talent and community involvement (e.g., Airdrie Rotary Festival for the Performing Arts)
– Geographic reach
– Affordability (tickets from $20+)
– Diverse programming (everything from Mozart to Broadway)
– Innovative venues and formats

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
