Sherwood Park Highland Gathering

Saturday, July 19th - Sunday, July 20th

Get ready for the 5th annual Sherwood Park Highland Gathering, a vibrant celebration of Celtic heritage! This family-friendly weekend features Highland Heavy Games (including the caber toss and hammer throw), traditional Highland dancing, pipes & drums from competitive and non-competitive bands, nearly 100 vendors, food trucks, and classic British car displays.

This year’s theme is “The Year of the Highland Coo” — stop by the one-of-a-kind Highland Coo exhibit, submit your mascot name suggestion, and take a selfie with Scotland’s most beloved beastie.

🎶 Live performances including:

Carson MacMillan (Bagpipe Soloist)

Josephburg Men’s Choir

McKinnon School of Dance

Edmonton Fiddlers

Heartland Ukulele Lovers of Alberta

Mikayla Bortscher (Harpist)

Edmonton Caledonia Scottish Society Dancers

And multiple sets by Crescendo Studios

🎟 Cap off Saturday with a high-energy Ceilidh in the Beer Garden featuring The Tilted Kilts, special guests from North Stratton Pipe Band, and Celtic Ceilidh Dance Academy.

🐑 Don’t miss duck and sheep herding demos on Sunday or the Heavy Games clinic if you want to try tossing a caber yourself.

Weekend passes and All-Event tickets (including Ceilidh entry) available now via Eventbrite.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
