Shakespeare in Love
The University of Calgary School of Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) Drama Division is excited to kick off its Mainstage season with Shakespeare in Love, written by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard, adapted for the stage by Lee Hall.
Set in 16th-century London, upstart playwright William Shakespeare battles with writer’s block and discovers unexpected inspiration in the irrepressible pull of a forbidden romance. This award-winning play is a love-letter to the theater and a refreshing and hilarious portrayal of Shakespeare’s life and art.
Be part of a evening of love, laughter, and the timeless allure of Shakespeare’s words and world. Shakespeare in Love will take place from Nov. 24 until Dec. 2, 2023 at the Reeve Theatre, University of Calgary (210 University Court NW, Calgary).
