River Valley Sessions with John Hewitt

Wednesday, February 18th

A new series debuting at the Little Brick Cafe. Join Prairie Song Alliance in affiliation with River Valley Sessions with songs, stories and Q&A. A special event where even the audience gets to participate in the Q&A and get to know the artist! Tickets range from $11.98 to $49.26 for Fireside.

About John:
John Hewitt is often considered one of the hardest working musicians and touring songwriters in Western Canada. Performing over 150 shows per year, managing an agency and production company (Second Sunset) and producing 9 full length studio albums and a book since March of 2020 it’s easy to see why. With recent appearances at Alberta Showcase, Your Roots Are Showing (Ireland) and Breakout West alongside major Festival appearances like Edmonton Folk Fest, Canmore Folk Fest, Red Lodge and Whitefish Songwriter Festivals his lyrical imagery and melodic hooks are a staple in the west. Taking inspiration from Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Van Morrison, Neil Young and Jim Croce in his writing alongside Beat Poets and the honest tradition of true folk music you’ll hear old tales of prairie murder, Canadian and American historical stories marinated with poetic imagery reminiscent of the poets of the 60’s folk revival.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
