The Ramblers Choir (Scott Nolan, Joe Nolan & Scott Cook with Pamela Mae)

Saturday, November 30th

Ramblers Choir is a kismet collaboration between Canadian songsmiths and veteran road dogs Scott Nolan, Joe Nolan, Scott Cook and Pamela Mae – four prairie voices bringing songs and stories to the mythical campfire. Begun on a whim as a one-off, the synergy was too strong not to reconvene. Scott Nolan is an acclaimed songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, poet and visual artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba whose songs have been covered by Hayes Carll, Mary Gauthier, Watermelon Slim, and Corin Raymond among others. Edmonton’s Joe Nolan is a true workhorse, virtuoso guitarist, elusive poet, and musical chameleon. Known for his scrappy solo shows and his arresting stage charm, his songs are at times fragile and fractured, yet winningly wistful. Scott Cook has been touring steadily around the world since 2007, distilling his experiences into plain-spoken, uplifting songs. Nowadays he’s travelling with his old-timey sweetheart Pamela Mae on upright bass, banjo and vocals. These four musical voices blend into something scruffy yet sublime –– a true ramblers choir.

Show starts at 8pm, Doors open at 7:15pm

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
