Puppet Power: Festival of Ideas
Puppet Power: Festival of Ideas looks at the role inanimate objects have had in ceremonies and celebrations since time immemorial. We explore the impact and potential of Applied Puppetry in all sorts of of practices. We wonder, who’s at the party, who’s not and whether it’s time to take back the carnival!
Local, national, and international master puppeteers and presenters will provide inspiring talks/panels, practical how-to workshops, and puppetry-based performances.
While designed for everyone, this will be of particular interest to educators, therapists, helping professionals, artists, students, thought leader and idea generators.
More than just entertainment and information sharing… our Festival of Ideas is about making authentic connections, having meaningful conversations on important topics, and motivating a call to action to use the power of puppetry to impact positive social change.
NEW THIS YEAR: Intermissions! an online networking and idea exchange hosted by special guests. Spend an hour of informal conversation, exploring ideas around puppetry and “celebration events” – everything from birthday parties to end of life celebrations… from social rituals to social justice.
