Play the Parks

Saturday, September 24th
Play the Parks, an iconic Toronto music festival is expanding nationally and will arrive in Edmonton for the first time!

Presented by the TD Music Connected Series, Play the Parks is an annual music program that focuses on showcasing local, diverse and talented artists in Toronto’s Downtown for the past 10 years. This year, Play the Parks is expanding into 13 cities across Canada. Curated by Canada’s Music Incubator (CMI), the free, musically, and culturally diverse concert series will spotlight over 100 musicians, connecting communities from coast to coast throughout the rest of the summer.

On September 24th, two diverse artists will perform in a free concert at Museum Parkette:
K4TGR4M – John Walter Museum Parkette – September 24 – 1 pm
Beginning January 2021, K4TGR4M joined forces as a multi-genre duo. They made their way from busking to performing at local markets, and onto bigger stages such as the CEBL Championship Weekend, U of A’s Welcome Week, and Calgary’s B!G Pride Festival in the span of a few months.

Josh Sahunta – John Walter Museum Parkette – September 24 – 1 pm
Drawing upon his influences from John Mayer, Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd, Josh Sahunta’s songwriting is packed with deeply rich narratives and cool, contemporary soundscapes. Josh has opened for the likes of Scott Helman and Joey Landreth, and he continues to perform across Canada, the US and Europe.
