Oscar Peterson: Family Album

Saturday, October 12th

2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of jazz icon Oscar Peterson. BuckingJam Palace starts the lead-in to a year-long celebration of the life and music of this Canadian treasure with an intimate experience of story and music: Oscar Peterson: Family Album.

Céline Peterson, daughter of Oscar and Kelly Peterson—and a distinguished contributor to the international jazz scene in her own right—joins three of Canada’s most accomplished jazz artists to share memories and music that will illuminate the incalculable impact of Oscar’s Peterson’s genius on generations of jazz musicians and music lovers.

Mementos from the Oscar Peterson estate will be on display before and after the concerts along with a collection of photos from the Peterson family archives.

Featured artists:
Céline Peterson: storyteller
Robi Botos: piano
Mike Downes: bass
Jim Doxas: drums and Music Director

This series is presented in collaboration with The Oscar Peterson Estate and is made possible by the generous sponsorship of ICM Asset Management, Larry and Jan Fichtner and Admiral Law.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
