A George Andrix Retrospective

Sunday, June 8th

Part of the Now Hear This Festival

New Music Edmonton’s 14th annual Now Hear This festival is proud to put the focus on one of the key figures in contemporary music making here in our community, George Andrix, with some of his most important collaborators. A hugely prolific and innovative composer, performer, educator, administrator, and more, George Andrix has been part of the scene here for decades. For this event, we are especially excited to bring together for the first time three amazing local ensembles who have been collaborating with George Andrix for many years. They will share some of their favourites of his works, and give the world premiere of Now Hear This combining all 12 musicians!

Featuring: The Strathcona String Quartet, bok brass, WindRose Trio and George Andrix

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
