Cyzmic swAy – erψn temp3st and Diana Tayler

Cyzmic swAy features an awesome double bill of new creations and performances: Cyzmic swAy by mentor erψn temp3st and Spinning Stardust, by emerging artist Diana Tayler. These two artists will certainly live up to the idea of multidisciplinary, with all kinds of amazing elements: live electronic sound, harp, projections, live video, movement, fibre arts, and much, much more! This show is the second part of our creative mentorship project, funded by the Edmonton Arts Council.

Cyzmic swAy is a sound and body-based performance that explores texture and resonance with respect to the architectural extensions of body and sculpture. Through movement, sound, and voice Cyzmic swAy parses questions of posthuman materiality that propose a body enmeshed in the matter and reverberations of a vibrant world.

Spinning Stardust: What if you could spin stardust into twinkling golden thread and knit a five pointed suit that would take you into the night sky, glimmering and shimmering? Spinning Stardust is a multidisciplinary work (harp, storytelling, fibre art) that chronicles the adventures of one forest gnome who, armed with a spindle and some yarn spun from forest matter, dips his long, delicate toes into the world of fast fashion. It invites one to ponder where their body ends and where their clothes begin, and how what we wear has the power to transform us. Come to Mile Zero and sit upon the floor, a story has slipped beneath the door….
