Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610

Sunday, October 20th
Calgary’s professional chamber choir, Luminous Voices, opens the season with a “cannot miss” event: Monteverdi’s rarely performed 1610 Vespero della Beata Vergine.
Considered groundbreaking and a masterpiece of the early Baroque, it includes virtuosic vocal and instrumental writing and ornamentation in combination with opulent antiphonal choruses and intimate solos, duets and trios. Be part of this unforgettable season launch as Luminous Voices is joined by Kerry Bursey, tenor, along with Rosa Barocca and its specialized instrumentalists from across the continent.
Tickets are available now and can be purchased through the Luminous Voices website at luminousvoices.com or at the door.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
