Matt Blais
Matt Blais, awarded 2024 Songwriter of the Year by the YYC Music Awards, is a roots-rock troubadour in search of authenticity – passionately advocating for connection. As a singer-songwriter, recording artist, and touring live performer, he has developed a purpose-driven creative life that inspires that connection in listeners. Performing meaningful songs with his signature belting vocals and harmonica work, Blais has built a full-time career with fans across Canada.
A former Calgary Public Library Songwriter in Residence, Matt has collaborated with Sam Roberts, played over a thousand shows, opened for acts such as Blue Rodeo, Collective Soul, and April Wine, and has been awarded with “Male Artist of the Year” at the YYC Music Awards, and “Best Rock Song” at The Great American Song Contest.
With these kinds of credentials, we’re honoured to have Matt joining us once again on the Off Cut Bar stage!
