Mary Walsh

Mary Walsh is a celebrated Canadian cultural icon renowned for her pioneering work in television and her advocacy for mental health. An evening with this comedian, actress and writer will include some of her best comedic bits and most popular characters from Dancing With Rage, CODCO and This Hour Has 22 Minutes, along with up-to-the-minute local political satire.

Hailing from St. John’s, NL, Mary Walsh was an original member of the infamous and influential CODCO sketch comedy series. She further solidified her status as a comedic icon by creating and starring in This Hour Has 22 Minutes, a satirical news program that earned her multiple Gemini Awards and, where her Warrior Princess character Marg Delahunty became famous for ambushing politicians and submitting them to satirical interviews.

Mary Walsh is the recipient of armfuls of Gemini awards, the Order of Canada award and the Governor General’s Lifetime Artistic Achievement award in the Performing Arts.
