Makiisma – Album Release Show w/ Fawns

Saturday, June 21st

Join violin-driven alt-rock artist Makiisma as she celebrates the release of her second album, The Heart Remains, alongside the dynamic, alt/prog-inspired band, Fawns. The show kicks off at 9 PM—cover by donation.

About the Album:
The Heart Remains is a collection of songs that serve as snapshots in time—moments of falling in and out of love, wrestling with grief and loss, and ultimately, holding on to hope and the quiet strength to keep going. The album weaves together a wide sonic landscape—ranging from intimate, contemplative acoustic passages to searing, chainsaw-like guitar riffs, and riff-heavy grooves that channel the raw energy and spirit of 1970s rock. The Heart Remains is dedicated to the memory of Makiisma’s mother, Janeen Brown.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
