Who: Lethbridge Pride
What: The 15th annual Lethbridge Pride March
Where: Galt Gardens
When: June 24, 2023, 11 a.m.
Why: This is an invitation to the people of Lethbridge, to come together and celebrate, and encourage the Lethbridge community to not oppress 2SLGBTQIA+ people.

Lethbridge Pride Board is gearing up for the 15th annual Lethbridge Pride March. To see the parade, Lethbridgeans should be at Galt Gardens on June 24th, at 11 a. m., and the celebrations will go on all day in the park (11 -5) and the celebrations will continue in the evening at the Multicultural Centre for a Pride Dance where we will be joined by Stephanie Prince and Juice Boxx, stars of Ru Paul’s Canada Drag Race, and a variety of other performers local to Southern Alberta.

Dr. Timothy Schwinghamer, a director on Lethbridge Pride Board, said: “Lethbridge is growing fast and we have an increasingly diverse community. I hope that Lethbridge Pride can contribute to feelings of belonging for 2SLGBTQIA+ people whether they are newcomers, or have lived here all their life. I hope that everybody feels the great support that Lethbridge has shown in recent years for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.”

Sarah Peace, a director on Lethbridge Pride Board, said: “I think that Lethbridge is facing a compassion crisis and we all need to make more of an effort to understand people who are different from us, whether it’s socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, or race, and we can all learn from each other.”

Heath Petkau, director on Lethbridge Pride Board, said “It wasn’t too long ago that Pride was a protest and not just a parade. With how policies are progressing in the States, it’s not too foreign a concept to imagine that it will become a protest again.”
