Light Eternal

Friday, November 28th

Vox Musica Choral Society warmly invites you to “Light Eternal,” which will be held on Friday November 28th at 7:30pm at Southminster United Church. Along with guest artists Tutti Corda String Orchestra (directed by Gabe Kastelic), soloists Karen Hudson, Brenton Taylor, and Dr. Erinn Roberts, and other talented local musicians, Vox will present contemporary and historical choral music about light. LUX, by Dan Forrest, is a shimmering blend of ancient liturgy and modern minimalism, accompanied by instruments both familiar (flute) and unexpected (vibraphone); Gloria in D Major, by Vivaldi, is just as renowned for its intricate joy today as it was when it was first performed over 300 years ago. Tutti Corda will also a piece on their own: “Polar Vortex” by Katie O’Hara LaBrie.

Tickets to “Light Eternal” are $25 for adults, or $15 for students and children. Those under 12 can enter free when accompanied by an adult. You can buy tickets in advance online at Eventbrite, in person at CASA, or at the door, cash only, on the night of the concert.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
