Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Awards Celebrations

For the first time ever, two of Alberta’s most prestigious art celebrations are happening together. On June 10 & 11, Portage College and Lac La Biche County will host the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta 2021 Distinguished Artist and 2022 Emerging Artist Awards and they invite you to join the celebrations!

Eleven outstanding new emerging artists will be announced and receive their awards from Her Honour Salma Lakhani, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. The event includes a chance to meet the three 2021 Distinguished Artists: visual artist Faye HeavyShield, author and film maker Cheryl Foggo, and dance choreographer Vicki Adams Willis. Reception to follow.

Tickets $125
Awards, live entertainment – including music, dance and spoken tributes to the three artists – and a four-course meal honour the 2021 Distinguished Artists: Faye HeavyShield, Cheryl Foggo, and Vicki Adams Willis. Live jazz entertainment at Gala Dinner rounds out the festivities.

More celebrations, activities and events will take place from June 8 – 11. Each day will offer opportunities to attend art exhibitions, register for art workshops, attend or participate in the Art Walk and Market in the Park.
