Lesbian Archive Crafternoon

Saturday, February 7th

Discover how font/typeface, graphic design, images, comics and illustrations tell the story of lesbian history in the last 40 years. Explore the archive then build your own image, card, or valentine using images from the archive. Entry by donation. Refreshments sponsored by Credo Coffee!

The Archive Dive project brings groups together to explore lesbian and queer history through a local archive which includes Womonspace newsletters spanning 1982–2007 as well as books and other resources. Unlike formal archives which are mostly accessed solo and in protected environments, the Archive Dive collection travels to classes, libraries, coffee shops, pub trivia nights and other informal settings. Archive Dive is a project by Kristy Harcourt, a long time organizer in Edmonton’s 2SLGBTQ+ community. In addition to nerding about lesbian and queer history, Kristy works as a therapist and teaches courses in Social Work and Gender Studies.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
