Lee Kvern: Catch You on The Flipside

Thursday, May 8th

Lee Kvern ‘s new novel Catch You on the Flipside will be launched  at Wordfest Calgary on May 8th.

Barbara Gowdy has called Lee Kvern “one of those generous writers who leaves her heart and intelligence on every page. And what a big heart it is. What a marvellously vibrant, wholly original intelligence.” See for yourself when Kvern comes to Wordfest with Catch You on the Flipside, her intriguing new novel about casino culture (the author is a veteran dealer and pitt boss!).

Hosted by Calgary writer Barb Howard, the conversation starts at 7 p.m. and includes an audience Q & A and book signing, fuelled by Shelf Life Books. Wordfest is going all-in on creating an unforgettable audience experience with casino-inspired cookie designs from our friends at Mom’s Cookie Jar.

Lee is interested in participating in an Arts & Culture interview to talk about Catch You on The Flipside and her work as an Alberta-based author. Lee has great stories in doing the research for this novel as she writes about historical fiction taking place in the Philippines and Canada.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
