Jake’s Gift

Thursday, October 31st - Sunday, November 17th

Jake’s Gift is an award-winning, one-woman play by Julia Mackey that tells the poignant story of a World War II veteran’s return to Normandy for the 60th anniversary of D-Day. What starts as a reluctant pilgrimage becomes a moving encounter with Isabelle, a 10-year-old girl whose curiosity and compassion help Jake confront his past and pay tribute to the friends he lost during the war.

This powerful story has resonated with audiences across Canada and internationally, and we’re thrilled to bring it to Calgary. It’s a moving exploration of remembrance, legacy, and the human connections that transcend time and tragedy.

Jake’s Gift is the first play in Lunchbox Theatre’s 50th season.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
