Jake Morley & Blair Dunlop

Thursday, November 14th

Jake Morley is a singer-songwriter from London, England, known for distinctive lyrics and implausible guitar playing. His third studio album Some Things Are Like Other Things was released on 28th October 2022.

His 2012’s debut album Many Fish to Fry led to a residency at Ronnie Scotts, headline tours across the UK, Europe and Canada, airplay across BBC Radio and live performances on national television. 2016’s follow-up The Manual, richly layered with strings and choirs, has also attracted millions of streams.

Along the way he’s had a shred-off with Punch Brothers, swapped late night songs with Michael Kiwanuka, broken Jack Garratt’s amp, and opened shows for They Might be Giants, Ed Sheeran, Newton Faulkner and Joe Bonamassa.

Jake Morley’s ability to express the human experience with wit and intensity has earned him a reputation as one of the UK’s most original songwriters and performers, renowned for creating exceptional live moments.

Blair Dunlop is an award-winning British singer-songwriter and guitarist, who has released 5 albums, 2 EPs and toured around the globe.

Blair burst onto the scene with his debut album ‘Blight & Blossom’ in 2012, showcasing virtuosic musicianship and lyrical maturity, and was awarded a prestigious BBC Folk Award in the wake of its release.   A string of critically acclaimed albums followed, along with headline tours and festival appearances in the UK, Europe, North America and Australia. ‘Gilded’ and ‘Notes from an Island’ were released on his own label and singles ‘The Egoist’ and ‘356’ received national playlist status on BBC Radio 2. Following this, ‘Trails: Queensland’ (2021), Blair’s first live album, documented a tour of rural Australia, playing for isolated communities.  From Glastonbury to Tuscany, Queensland to Palestine, Blair has brought his musicality and storytelling to audiences young and old. His fifth Album, ‘Out of the Rain’ was released in May 2024 and will be available at the show.

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
