Itamar Erez Quartet

Sunday, September 22nd

“The music really catches fire…Erez stretches out, using his impressive instrumental technique to great effect…” – Songlines Magazine

“A showcase of stunning musicianship” – Vancouver Sun

“Guitarist/pianist/composer Itamar Erez expands the musical cultures and geographical borders of the Middle East with passionate flamenco and Latin music themes, the lyricism of Brazilian bluesy Choro and, obviously, the freedom of jazz” – Salt Peanuts

Erez has released six albums and performed at renowned venues like the Barbican in London, Sydney Opera House, and that mountaintop of arts performance, New York’s Carnegie Hall. As far-ranging as he is, both musically and geographically, “it’s hard to locate Itamar Erez’s music in any particular place or time, other than here and now” (Stir). Playing selections from his engrossing albums, Erez’s quartet features some of the Canadian jazz scene’s boldest, most sensitive players including John Nicholson sax, Jeff Gammon bass, and Kevin Romain drums.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
