Interstellar 10 Organ Concert Tour

Tuesday, October 22nd

Roger Sayer, the organist who worked with Hans Zimmer to create the soundtrack for the blockbuster film INTERSTELLAR, is marking the 10th anniversary of the movie with a worldwide tour culminating in a 5-city Canadian tour, including a stop in Calgary on October 22.

Since the release of the movie 10 years ago, the music from INTERSTELLAR has developed a huge following, introducing the organ to many audiences for the first time.

Sayer will share his experience of working with composer Zimmer and director Christoper Nolan, before playing his own versions of all the epic hits from the soundtrack on the organ, the instrument that ZIMMER specifically used to express the wonder and mystery of space.

The concert will feature the opening theme from 2001:  A Space Odyssey, selections from The Planets by Gustav Holst, a special screening of a short documentary on the creation of the Interstellar soundtrack, followed by a Q&A with Roger Sayer, and of course, the unforgettable hits from the Interstellar soundtrack.

Tickets are $35 (general) / $25 (students), available online through eventbrite.ca.

Presented by the Royal Canadian College of Organists. For more information, visit //rcco.ca/interstellar.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
