Help to End a Culture of Exploitation with Karen Moe, author of Victim: A Feminist Manifesto from a Fierce Survivor.

Sunday, June 26th

Join Vancouver, BC/Mexico City author Karen Moe at Audreys Books for a presentation and reading from her debut book, Victim: A Feminist Manifesto from a Fierce Survivor (Vigilance Press April 2nd, 2022). Edmonton is Karen’s first stop on her Canada Trauma & Triumph Tour where she is connecting with sexual assault non-profits across the country, raising awareness for their services and donating part of the proceeds from the sale of each book. In Edmonton, Karen has connected with the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE), information about their services to the Edmonton community will be available at the event.

Karen Moe is a survivor, feminist activist and is the recipient of the “Ellie Liston Hero of the Year Award” 2022 for being instrumental in the life sentence given to a serial rapist. Her abduction, escape and the apprehension of the rapist is the narrative thread that runs through the book. Victim isn’t only her personal story, however. It extends well beyond the memoirist and is a manifesto to end a culture of exploitation and, as such, end such crimes as sexual assault. Canadian journalist and author Victor Malarek calls the book a “a compelling must-read!” and Readers’ Favorite says: “if you like books that could change the world, you will love Victim: A Feminist Manifesto from a Fierce Survivor by Karen Moe.”
