Heartstrings and Honkeytonks

Sunday, March 10th

There’s a reason Nashville is nicknamed “Music City”…home of the Opry, the Ryman, Tootsies, and the BlueBird Cafe, all milestones for songwriters in the pursuit of the ultimate goal—sharing music with the world and hearing it live on the radio.

Leading up to Alberta’s Country Legend’s 70th Birthday, 840 CFCW is bringing Music City to you with “Heartstrings & Honky Tonks”, a salute to the iconic Grand Ole Opry. This unique series of four shows will be set in a traditional Nashville-style songwriter’s round, or guitar pull…all while giving the artists and audience the chance to be part of something truly special as they’re broadcast LIVE on CFCW.

Hosted by Jackie Rae, these sessions will feature incredible songwriters sharing stories, songs they’ve written and performed the way originally intended, along with songs that hold a special place in their hearts. Platinum-selling co-writers, and long-time friends Dan Davidson and Clayton Bellamy lead each event, sharing their own Nashville experiences along with 3 chords and the truth. Joining Dan & Clayton in Sherwood Park are Duane Steele, Mariya Stokes, and a special guest appearance by local artist, Hannah Gazso

Tickets are $48.40 + GST and are on-sale now through the Festival Place Box Office.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we’d love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
