Gnoss

Wednesday, April 15th

Gnoss is a dynamic four-piece Scottish band known for their fresh take on traditional folk music. Their signature sound is a rich tapestry of acoustic layers; outstanding musicianship, deep traditional roots and contemporary compositional flair combine to create songs and tunes brimming with character.
Based in Glasgow, the group consists of Aidan Moodie (vocals, acoustic guitar), Graham Rorie (fiddle, mandolin), Connor Sinclair (flute, whistles), and Craig Baxter (bodhrán, percussion) where they have built an invested following through their forward-thinking take on traditional music and the unique warmth of their live shows. This has been proven through three consecutive sellout appearances at Glasgow’s world-famous Celtic Connections festival.

Their music displays a deep reverence for tradition while embracing innovation, blending intricate instrumental sets with heartfelt songs. Since their formation, Gnoss has earned critical acclaim and a loyal following. Albums such as Drawn from Deep Water (2019), The Light of the Moon (2021), and Stretching Skyward (2023) highlight their evolution and commitment to pushing boundaries within the Folk Genre.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
