Garneau String Quartet Concert: Dvôrák with Angela Cheng

Monday, January 13th

Join us for the third concert of the season featuring pianist Angela Cheng. Consistently praised for her brilliant technique, tonal beauty, and superb musicianship, Canadian pianist Angela Cheng is one of our country’s national treasures. She performs Mozart’s Piano Sonata in C major K. 330 and joins the Garneau String Quartet for Dvôrák’s thrilling Piano Quintet. The Garneau String Quartet will also perform the folky and rhythmic first quartet of Grażyna Bacewicz. This concert is made possible by The Muttart Foundation.

The Garneau String Quartet 2024/25 Concert Series is an intimate and immersive series featuring many gifted musicians. The quartet is comprised of members of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra: violinists Robert Uchida and Laura Veeze, violist Keith Hamm, and cellist Julie Hereish.

Concert Program:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Piano Sonata in C Major, K. 330
Grażyna Bacewicz – String Quartet No. 1
Antonin Dvôrák – Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major, Op. 81

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
