Everyone Has A Story: Songwriters Workshop with John Wort Hannam
The Allied Arts Council of Pincher Creek is excited to share our upcoming Everyone Has a Story Songwriters workshop with Alberta Artist in Residence John Wort Hannam
This free workshop will take place at The Annex – conference room on August 1 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
“Everyone Has A Story” is a songwriting workshop designed for Albertans of all backgrounds and all levels. This project will guide participants through the creative process of songwriting- from idea generation to final composition. (It is important to note that participants do not need to play an instrument or sing – this workshops focuses on song lyrics.)
This event is free but does require you to sign up online as space is limited to 24 spots. We encourage folks 18+ to sign up soon!
Participants will work towards creating a song that is based on a personal story or personal experience because I believe that when we tell our own stories and listen to each other’s stories, we can connect and when there’s connection, we develop bonds. If we understand our neighbours, particularly if our communities are diverse culturally, politically and/or religiously, then we can develop empathy and compassion for our fellow Albertans. With these powerful emotions, we can attain stronger communities and more joyful lives.
