Esteban Herrera Trio

Friday, June 27th

Esteban Herrera Trio – Late Night at the Sandman

Originally from Mexico City and now based in Calgary, pianist and composer Esteban Herrera brings an expansive, world-informed perspective to this evening’s Late Night Jazz Jam. With 13 albums released, a 2022 JUNO-nomination, and a 2023 YYC Music Award win, Herrera blends contemporary jazz with global influences through his trio’s dynamic, rhythmically rich sound. A 30-year veteran of the international music scene and a voting member of the Latin Grammys, he continues to inspire as a performer, composer, and educator. Expect a night of deep musical interplay, bold improvisation, and genre-blurring creativity.

Jammers welcome – free admission for those ready to play.

Band members

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
