Friday, December 5th

Out for another tour, Emily Triggs & John Borra share songs & stories in full sets- folk, rock & punk roots combine for an unforgettable night of music.

Emily Triggs
Montreal raised Emily Triggs landed in Alberta by way of West Virginia where she spent years exploring American folk music. This guitarist, singer, songwriter takes you on a journey through influences and experiences that have shaped her folk, roots, alt country sound, hitting charts across Canada as well as cracking the USA’s Alternative Country Specialty Chart and special mention in the American Songwriter Magazine. Her music grips the heart and elevates the soul. Her songs are double edged, unapologetic and a unique sound in the genre of folk/rock.

John Borra
John Borra is a respected figure in Toronto’s music scene, blending punk’s raw energy with the storytelling traditions of folk, country, and Americana. From his early days in the 1980s underground scene to his solo career, Borra has built a reputation for authenticity and passion, earning critical acclaim with albums like Blue Wine and Cassettes In Common. His latest project, Last Dance at the E Room, is a deeply personal tribute to his late mentor, Peter J. Moore, and the creative space that played a pivotal role in his musical journey.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
