Emily TRIGGS –

Following Emily’s widely accepted release ‘When Guinevere Went Under’, Triggs is busting down walls that confine an artist to expectations and to the folk/roots genres with her album ‘Middletown’. Nominated for a Folk Music Canada Award 2021 and Western Canadian Music Awards Roots Artist of the Year 2021, the album is receiving radio play on CBC across the country and into the United States and hit #2 on National Folk/Roots Charts, top 10 for 6 weeks and #1 on CKUA radio for 3 weeks running.

John BORRA –

John Borra has seen and done it all within the Toronto alternative music scene, from witnessing the first stirrings of punk as a kid in the late 1970s, to joining his first bands at the dawn of the alt-rock movement in the 1980s, (A Neon Rome, Change of Heart, Groovy Religion, Rattlesnake Choir, Viletones, Ron Sexsmith,Serena Ryder
Greg Keelor) and forging a solo career during the roots music renaissance that followed.

His new album, Cassettes In Common, pays tribute to virtually all of those eras by presenting Borra’s new interpretations of 10 songs by fellow singer/songwriters who helped build the scene, such as Art Bergman, Ron Sexsmith, Kyp Harness, Bob Snider, Sam Larkin and Frank Nevada. Moreover, the first focus track from Cassettes In Common pays tribute to Vancouver legend Art Bergmann. “Sleep,” from Bergmann’s acclaimed 1990 album Sexual Roulette
