Emily Triggs Album Party with The Woodshed

Thursday, November 20th

‘The Great Escape’ was released last year and its time to celebrate. Third most played album on CKUA Radio 2024, come join us for a full band show at The Ironwood.

Emily Triggs

The Great Escape will not let listeners down as Emily continues to push boundaries as an artist, this being her most honest writing and recording to date. Produced in Vancouver by Paul Rigby (guitarist/collaborator Neko Case) the album captures the undeniably authentic style of songwriting and arrangement that reflects the world of music that Emily has built around her with an energy and a significance that goes beyond her recordings. Emily has her own thread of folk/roots filled with a lifetime of music and influences and shares stories through songs with an endearing simplicity that belies their emotional depth.

Montreal raised Emily Triggs landed in Alberta by way of West Virginia where she spent years exploring American folk music. This guitarist, singer, songwriter takes you on a journey through influences and experiences that have shaped her folk, roots, alt country sound, hitting charts across Canada as well as cracking the USA’s Alternative Country Specialty Chart and special mention in the American Songwriter Magazine. Her music grips the heart and elevates the soul. Her songs are double edged, unapologetic and a unique sound in the genre of folk/rock.

The Woodshed
Acclaimed roots songwriters John Wort Hannam and T. Buckley make up The Woodshed, a modern folk duo based in Alberta. Together they bring a beautiful vocal blend of brotherly harmonies combined with sophisticated song writing alongside intricate guitar playing.

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
