Doug Waite Sound System
As Calgary’s unofficial busker king, you’ve probably seen Doug Waite streetside or performing at local venues and music festivals.
Doug started playing music when he was fifteen, busking his way throughout Europe as a young man, then back to his roots in Canada, where he’s won the Calgary Folk Fest Songwriting contest two years in a row and has played in numerous Calgary music scene staples. He’s toured Spain with the Ramblin’ Ambassadors and produced the Bownesians’ Picnic for nine years. Most recently, you can see him performing as a duo in Büsker Du or drumming for The Dial-Ups. Genre-defying, his performances blend everything from folk, jazz, surf rock, and more.
