Current Swell with Jay Malinowski

Friday, February 27th

For over a decade, Victoria, BC’s Current Swell have built a global following with their electrifying live shows and soulful songwriting. Fronted by Scott Stanton and David Lang, alongside Louis Sadava, Marcus Manhas and Phil Hamelin, the five-piece blends indie rock, folk and West Coast roots. With hits like Comin’ Home and Young and Able, they’ve earned millions of streams and a reputation for high-energy, heartfelt performances.

After 2019’s Buffalo, they returned with 2024’s Peacekeeper, produced by Gus Van Go. The EP captures friendship, joy and growth through tracks like Ba Ba Song and Early Riser, celebrating life’s simple pleasures and creative perseverance. Current Swell’s concerts, dubbed “a church of rock ’n’ roll,” are communal celebrations of music and connection. They are one of indie rock’s most beloved, feel-good bands, ready to inspire audiences worldwide.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
