Controlled Burn

Witness the Calgary premiere of composer and cellist Cris Derksen’s Controlled Burn on March 15 at Jack Singer Concert Hall.
Fresh from her Carnegie Hall debut, Cris Derksen joins the Calgary Philharmonic for this dramatic work inspired by traditional Indigenous fire keeping practices. Plus, director Rune Bergmann leads the orchestra through Joseph Suk’s symphony number two.
