CPO – A Night in Vienna with Sir Stephen Hough

Saturday, March 23rd

Don’t miss this remarkable opportunity to hear distinguished British pianist and polymath Sir Stephen Hough perform with the Calgary Phil in the Canadian premiere of his own piano concerto, inspired by the decadence of pre-war Vienna. Rune Bergmann also leads the Orchestra in Schubert’s Great Symphony. The Second Symphony of notable 18th-century French composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges is a charming opener.

This concert has an approximate run time of 2 hours. There is a 20 minutes intermission. Join us for our pre-concert chat at 6:35PM with Jeremy Clark.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we’d love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
