Cinema Crafternoon

Come hang out with the crafting community in Calgary’s oldest independent theatre. This craft-friendly screening experience is perfect for on-going projects or starting something new! Bring your own craft & we will supply the popcorn (included with ticket). Whether you knit, crochet, embroider, collage, sketch, bead, mend, or just want a chill creative morning with good company, this event is for you. Settle in, get crafting, and enjoy a cult classic with fellow makers.

Cost: $20 online or $25 day-of at the door (subject to capacity)

We will be watching the 1999 sapphic cult classic film “But I’m a Cheerleader”. The movie starts at 11:30 am and will have soft lighting to allow for crafting during the film.

Don’t feel like watching the movie? No problem! We’ve got lots of comfy seating outside the theatre so you can keep hanging without missing out on the fun.

About the film:
A naïve teenager is sent to “sexual redirection” school when her straitlaced parents and friends suspect her of being gay.

Raffle Prizes:
We’ll have 3 different raffle prize packs filled with crafty goodies, trinkets, handmade items from local makers, and donations from our partners. Extra raffle tickets can be purchase online or day-of.
