Chiki Lora

Thursday, February 1st

Coming all the way from Spain, Chiki Lora joins us for a special night of music and celebration.
Chiki Lora was born in Malaga in 1982, when Spain was putting on its Naranjito boots for the Football World Cup. He grew up in Madrid, and his bones and songs finally settled down in the Basque country.
He was born as a world traveler musician, and the thousands of miles travelled for many years as a member of Canteca de Macao band where he was composer, singer and guitarist, have come to place Chiki Lora in a haven of peace in his solo career.
He’s not tied to any genre, but drinks a bit from all of them. No barriers can stop him. He flows freely through them. Just like water, he can both be a strong torrent or a placid flow.
Chiki’s performance stemmed from a special trade mission to Columbia. Performing arts centre directors were able to be part of a special artist showcase in Columbia and also meet artists from the area. Chiki Lora is one of two performers touring Canada because of that trade mission.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we’d love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
