Welcome to an evening of timeless music and heartfelt tribute. We invite you to step into the life and legacy of the Bright Side of Charley Pride. The voice and presence of Ali Bright honour the spirit and songs of Charley Pride in the Bright Side of Charley Pride. Together they journey through decades of hits, heart warming stories and the break through moments that helped Charley become a pioneer in country music. 70 million records sold world wide, 39 No. 1 hits, 52 Billboard Top 10s, and a multitude of awards including 3 Grammys.

Join Ali Bright as he guides us through Prides life, starting in the cotton fields of Mississippi, continuing through his career pitching in the old Negro Leagues, and ultimately making records and breaking records in the music industry. Already playing sold out houses in Western Canada, The Bright Side of Charley Pride is a natural fit for theatres and Show rooms of all sizes. Experience the legend, the, and the incredible story of “The Bright Side of Charley Pride.”

Ali Bright grew up in a huge family of 16 children in the East Coast town of Danvers, Nova Scotia. At a tender age, Ali cut his teeth performing in his family band and appearing at community events. As a young man Ali heard his calling, joining the Canadian military, spending 22 years serving his country as a military veteran. Bright won a string of talent contests in the 1990’s including Nova Scotia’s Bud Country Talent Search and the 103.9 FM Radio Star Search in Edmonton, AB. Ali Bright released his debut album “Desperate Man” in 1995 while touring Western Canada. Ali’s gentle personality and rich soothing vocals, combined with the influence of Charley’s music make him the ideal artist to pay tribute to a great country legend.

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
