CFR Backroads Series and CKUA Radio Present: Sister City Sessions

Thursday, October 8th

CFR Backroads Series and CKUA Radio present: Sister City Sessions Edmonton!

Celebrate Canadian Finals Rodeo Week with an intimate evening of songs and stories connecting two sister cities through music.

Sister City Sessions brings Edmonton and Nashville together in the round at CKUA’s Beresh Arts Den, featuring Lillie Mae (Nashville), Joe Nolan (Edmonton), and Lucette (Edmonton) sharing the stage, trading songs, and telling the stories behind the music.

Come early, grab some barbecue, and settle in for the show!

THE ARTISTS:

Lillie Mae | Nashville

Lillie Mae’s distinct style expands across country, rock, bluegrass, and Americana delivering deft acoustic picking, electric “swamp sounds,” and fiddle-playing that’s netted her collaborations with many well-known musicians. We’re thrilled to welcome her back to Edmonton for an intimate evening celebrating the musical connection between sister cities Edmonton and Nashville.

For Sister City Sessions, Lillie Mae is joined by her brother, singer and guitarist Frank Carter Rische, for a special duo performance.

Joe Nolan | Edmonton

A virtuoso guitarist, elusive poet, and musical chameleon, Joe Nolan is known for his scrappy solo shows and arresting stage presence. His songs can be fragile and fractured, yet winningly wistful.

Lucette | Edmonton

Lauren Gillis, professionally known as Lucette, is a Canadian alternative pop songwriter with a 15-year career spanning her own artist project, co-writing, and international publishing.

Lucette continues to create songs that connect through sharp storytelling, collaboration, and modern pop sensibility.

BARBECUE BY PITT COUNTY BBQ

Make a night of it and add a barbecue dinner to your ticket! Meals from Pitt County BBQ are available for advance purchase and will be ready to enjoy before the show.
