Cara Luft with Special Guest Neil Osborne

Saturday, March 23rd

Fish Creek Concerts
presents

To mark her long career and her 50th birthday, Cara Luft (The Small Glories, The Wailin’ Jennys) is launching “50 for 50” — fifty curated shows that will see her travel across Canada, the US and Europe.  She will be joined by a cast of friends and special guest artists who share her sense of adventure and joyful music-making, as well as her passion to explore, collaborate and celebrate.  No two shows will be the same.  For the Calgary GRAND Theatre show, presented by Fish Creek Concerts, Cara will be joined by her producer and close friend Neil Osborne (54-40).  Neil is Canadian rock royalty, equipped with a folk singer’s heart.  He’s penned signature songs such as “I Go Blind”, “One Gun” and “Ocean Pearl”, with lyrics ranging from politically astute observations to the most innocent love song and everything in between.  And Cara?  As one promoter put it, “I don’t know which is more beguiling… her 1000 watt personality, her wizardry on guitar and banjo, the power of her voice or her songwriting talent?  In any event, the audience is in for a real treat!”  Join Cara and Neil and other special guests for a one-of-a-kind unique performance full of musical surprises.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we’d love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
