Canada Day Artillery Band and Salute

Are you looking for an interesting – and different – way to celebrate Canada Day?
A Canadian Army Reserve unit will conduct a 21-gun salute at 12:00 noon on Canada Day at Government House in Edmonton. During the salute, soldiers from the Edmonton-based 20th Field Regiment will fire blank ammunition using 105 mm howitzers.
You are invited to watch – but bring earplugs! A 100-metre safety perimeter will be in place while the howitzers are firing. After the salute, you will be able to speak with soldiers and see the artillery pieces and related equipment up close.
The Royal Canadian Artillery Band is scheduled to perform before and after the salute.
