Calgary ReggaeFest presents A Black History Month Celebration

Friday, February 2nd

Join Calgary ReggaeFest for reggae music and culture night to celebrate Black History Month. Live Music begins at 8 pm on Friday, February 2, 2024. The lineup features some of the most talented reggae musicians in Alberta.

Saint And The Full 100 Band was formed in 2017 in Edmonton with musicians hailing from Jamaica, Trinidad and Canada. Saint is the drummer and also the lead singer of the band. Each person brings their unique style and personality to the band and shares a love of music.

Al Third is a reggae-pop artist and producer known for his pop-alternative influenced music and vividly bold, crisp style. The Canadian resident has a rhythmic style of music infused with pop, ballads, R&B, dancehall and alternative vocals nicely laid on contemporary reggae pop and world beats. He prides himself in creating a unique sound of music complemented by soulful lyrics that resonate with diverse fanbases and listeners.

Jory Kinjo brings a unique history to his music, drawing from his experiences playing and performing Soul, Ska, Reggae, Rhythm and blues worldwide. Kinjo has repeatedly appeared with many artists, including George Thorogood, UB40 and Ziggy Marley.

That’s not all – this event is Pay What You Can so, you can enjoy great music without breaking the bank! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to immerse yourself in the soulful rhythms of reggae music and celebrate Black History Month with us. See you there!

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
