Bye Bye Blues

Thursday, May 28th

In celebration of Edmonton International Film Festival’s 40th anniversary, arriving September 24 to October 3, 2026, we’ve elected to share some of our favourite films as we hurtle down the Road to 40. On the fourth Thursday of each month from May to August, join us at Metro Cinema and Landmark Cinemas 9 City Centre as we share a film from each decade of our festival’s life.

We’ll reveal each film one month in advance at each preceding screening, so make sure you’re in the theatre for the first scoop.

The inaugural screening is Anne Wheeler’s made-in-Alberta classic Bye Bye Blues.

The screening will be followed by an in-person Q&A with celebrated Canadian filmmaker Anne Wheeler.

Purchase tickets for $15 or secure a Road Pass to see all four films for $40.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
